Character Abilities:
As a fon master guardian, Anise is a lot tougher than she looks. As someone who fights on a daily basis, she is fit and stronger than most girls her age. She has a wide range of artes that go from the first to the sixth fonon and she can also use her doll, Tokunaga, to physically attack enemies. With the help of a fon machine, her doll is able to grow bigger than most people and gives her a better advantage. She delivers heavy damage to anyone who fights her. She is a soldier and is willing to risk her life to protect others. Even outside of the battlefield, Anise is capable of keeping up with her older teammates. Despite the dangers they go through, she turns out just fine. Even after being thrown off the Tartarus, she was completely fine. As noted by Ion and Jade, she is Anise after all.
She is also extremely clever for her age. Since she grew up living in debt, she had to find ways to outsmart people and get money quick. Due to this, she is very insightful when it comes to other people and her teammates often comment on how perceptive she is. As being one of, if not the youngest fon master guardian, she is also studious and hard working. While she isn’t as bright as Jade, she has a lot of knowledge and knows her way around certain places such as Mt. Zaleho and Daath. She is very responsible and capable, too. She knows how to take care of herself, her parents, and Ion as well. It is also commented that she is the best cook and would make a good housewife. She is mature, even acting like an older sister at times even though she is the youngest.
Character Weaknesses:
While Anise is slowly growing out of this, she has a hard time trusting people. She grew up in a place where everyone was out to get everyone and developed a cold personality to deal with it all. She is a jerk and isn’t afraid to show it. She doesn’t bother with passive aggressiveness and will say what she wants loud and clear. What also shows in her actions is her bluntness. She is headstrong, acts before she thinks, and certainly throws out curses when Luke and Jade aren’t around (I’LL KILL YOU BASTARDS!). Since she is so cold, she uses her insight on people and throws it back at them. She knows how to blackmail people and can be manipulative at times. While she is post canon, she no longer wants to marry into the rich but some habits die hard. She can be greedy and is willing to find any guys who have a lot of money.
Since she is so used to taking care of herself, she is used to doing things by herself. She runs on the principle of “if you want something done, you should do it yourself.” This goes back to those troubles with trusting people as she would rather suffer on her own than to let others do things for her. She never told the others that she was a spy because she thought she could handle it on her own. This also applies to her future duel with Arietta.
Anise is still a child and, therefore, is childish. While she is strong, she is small. It doesn’t take much for her to be thrown out of the Tartarus and weights about 90 pounds for a 5’0 girl. She is mature but there are times when she fits her age. She whines and says cute things about herself, carries a doll with her (and sometimes talks of Tokunaga as though it was a person), has a love of pink, and so on. Just like any young girl her age, she also thinks about love and boys often. In a way, she is wishing for a knight in shining armor to come save her from the life she has.
